Look at all this green! Spring and summer can’t come soon enough!

So, this is my first time reading Mansfield Park and I’m really enjoying our heroine, Fanny Price. Fanny is an atypical Austen heroine; she’s poor, shy, and delicate. But she’s also smart and observant and you can’t help but root for her! I’ve already seen the movie and I have to say, I like book Fanny much more than movie Fanny. Movie Fanny is more confident and sensitive to societal nuances, which is great, don’t get me wrong, but also  very different from my current understanding of shy book Fanny who sees the big picture and doesn’t quite understand the underlying conversations between the various ladies and gentlemen. I’m not very far into the book at all, but I have a feeling Miss Fanny Price has a great deal of character growth ahead of her and I can’t wait to see how she turns out! And I hope Edmund, the Austen gentleman, improves his attitude and actions because he is not my favorite right now…
